Waiting for her brother early in the morning next to the Kowloon Star Ferry Terminal, a young woman begins to go for a walk along the Hong-Kong Bay.
Through a lengthy monologue, she discloses the construction of a unique monument, a melancholy combination of lonely presences, naval architecture and morning quietness. Here, all kinds of people get started with their day, each in his/her own way, each one on his own. What is at stake in this movie is the city’s scenic dimension and how it shapes and stages each individual. And also – through the monologue – how each character constantly works out his/her expectations, his/her background and his/her emotions when faced with the intensity and immensity of a seaside city.
