Layers est une vidéo montée avec les photographies de plateau prises sur le tournage de Magazine et deux plan-séquences en 16 mm tirés de ce film. Le montage superpose les points de vue du chef-opérateur, du photographe de plateau, d’un artiste sonore et du réalisateur sur le même événement. Il propose une narration fragmentaire qui sollicite la participation active du spectateur pour reconstituer un récit. Au gré du film, la bande son électronique de Jean-Philippe Roux fait apparaître une histoire en filigrane.

Layers is a video constructed with photographs taken during the shooting of Magazine and two 16 mm sequence-shots extracted from this movie.
The editing superimposes the points of view of the camera operator, the portrait and still cameraman, a sound artist and the director on the same event. It allows several types of images to blend with each other and offers a fragmented narration requiring the viewer to participate in the reconstitution of the narrative thread.
As the movie unfolds through documentary photographs and 16mm fiction sequences, the soundtrack created by Jean-Philippe Roux leads to the emergence of a story between the lines.
